The Uber and Careem lounge at Dubai International Airport (DXB) Terminal 3 is now open, offering arriving passengers a cooler, more comfortable place to wait for their ride.
Located at the main ride-hailing pickup area, the new space is designed to make the often-busy journey from baggage claim to the car a little easier, especially during Dubai’s hot summer months. The facility has been developed by Uber in partnership with Dubai Airports, with support from the Dubai Civility Committee.
Where to Find the New Lounge
The custom-built lounge is located in the Car Pickup zone opposite Terminal 3, directly beside the main Uber and Careem pickup area.
After leaving the terminal, arriving passengers can follow the signs towards the car pickup zone and look for the dedicated lounge entrance. This means there is no need to stand outside in the heat while waiting for a driver to arrive.
What Can You Expect Inside?
The lounge has been designed as a practical waiting space rather than simply somewhere to sit. It is fully air-conditioned and fitted with high-efficiency air purifiers, offering a more comfortable environment while you organise the final part of your journey.
There are also ergonomic benches and seating with space for heavier luggage, making it easier to settle in without keeping bags at your feet. Travellers who need to catch up on emails or get some work done can use the high chairs and elevated tables.
For those arriving with low phone battery, multiple charging hubs provide USB-C, USB-A and standard electrical sockets.
How the Pickup System Works
The lounge also aims to make finding your ride less confusing. Dedicated queues are available for UberX and Careem Comfort passengers, with a PIN-based dispatch system helping match riders with vehicles as they move through the queue. Clear instructions inside the lounge then guide passengers towards their allocated car when it is ready.
This should make the experience particularly useful after a long flight, when navigating a busy pickup area with luggage can be tiring.
