Got AED 3,000+ in Dubai Traffic Fines? Here’s How to Pay in Instalments

If you have AED 3,000 or more in Dubai traffic fines, you may be able to spread the cost through an interest-free instalment plan. Dubai Police allows eligible vehicle owners to pay qualifying fines over 3, 6 or 12 months through participating UAE banks or a direct debit arrangement. The option can make a sizeable fine bill easier to manage without paying the entire amount upfront.

Can you pay Dubai traffic fines in instalments?

Eligible motorists can split their Dubai Police traffic fines into monthly payments, subject to the applicable requirements and bank approval. The available repayment periods are 3, 6 or 12 months, depending on the payment method and participating bank.

The facility is particularly useful for drivers who have accumulated several fines and would prefer to manage the costs gradually rather than make a single large payment.

Who is eligible?

The total value of the eligible fines must be at least AED 3,000. The service is specifically for Dubai Police traffic fines; RTA, Salik, and fines issued by other emirates are not covered by this facility.

The Emirates ID used for the application must also belong to the vehicle’s registered owner. Bank approval is required before a credit card or direct debit instalment arrangement can be activated.

Which banks offer 0% instalments?

Several UAE banks participate in the Dubai Police traffic-fine instalment programme. These include Emirates NBD, ADCB, FAB, Dubai Islamic Bank, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Standard Chartered, Emirates Islamic and Commercial Bank International (CBI).

Terms can differ between banks. Emirates NBD, for example, lists a minimum transaction value of AED 500 for its Dubai Police traffic-fine 0% instalment facility. Motorists should check their bank’s current terms before making a payment, as participating banks and conditions can change.

How to apply for traffic fine instalments

The application can be started through the official Dubai Police website or smart app. Open the Traffic Fines Inquiry and Payment service and enter the requested vehicle, plate or traffic-file details to view your outstanding fines.

After selecting the fines you want to pay, choose the available instalment option. For direct debit, you will need to provide the requested personal and bank details, including your Emirates ID. The request is then submitted for the required approval.

If you are paying with a participating credit card, the bank may require you to convert the transaction into an interest-free instalment plan through its app or by contacting the bank after payment.

Why use the instalment option?

For motorists facing a larger fine bill, monthly payments can make it easier to manage household and travel expenses while settling outstanding penalties. The option also provides a convenient digital way to deal with fines without arranging a large one-off payment.

Before applying, check that your fines meet the AED 3,000 minimum, confirm that they were issued by Dubai Police and verify the latest terms with your bank.
