29 New Dubai Metro Stations Are Coming: Here’s Where They’ll Be

The 29 new Dubai Metro stations planned for the city will significantly expand Dubai’s public transport network over the next few years, connecting more communities, business districts and popular attractions.

The expansion will be delivered through two major projects: the Blue Line, expected to open in 2029, and the Gold Line, scheduled to launch in 2032. Together, the two lines will add 29 stations across Dubai, making it easier for residents and visitors to travel between key destinations while supporting the city’s continued growth.

The new routes form part of Dubai’s wider transport and urban development plans, which aim to improve connectivity and reduce reliance on private vehicles as the population continues to grow.

Blue Line to Connect Emerging Communities

The Dubai Metro Blue Line will add 14 stations and create direct links between several fast-growing residential and commercial areas.

Among the locations set to benefit are Dubai Creek Harbour, Dubai Festival City, Mirdif, Al Warqa, Ras Al Khor, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Academic City. The line will also connect to Dubai International Airport, making journeys to and from the airport more convenient for many residents.

International City is expected to see one of the biggest improvements, with three stations planned in the area. The Blue Line will also connect with the existing Metro network through interchange stations at Al Jaddaf and Centrepoint.

One of the project’s standout features will be the station at Dubai Creek Harbour, which is expected to become the world’s tallest metro station once completed.

Gold Line to Bring Metro Access to More Areas

The Gold Line will introduce 18 additional stations and extend Metro coverage to several communities that currently have limited public transport options.

Planned stops include Al Ghubaiba, City Walk, Business Bay, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai Hills, Global Village, Dubai Miracle Garden, Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC), Dubai Production City and Jumeirah Golf Estates. Satwa, one of Dubai’s most established neighbourhoods, is also set to receive Metro access for the first time.

Several stations will connect with existing Metro lines and future transport projects, including Etihad Rail services.

Once both lines are operational, the expanded network is expected to improve commuting options across Dubai and provide easier access to some of the city’s busiest residential, commercial and leisure destinations.
