A new digital platform in the UAE, the Essential Goods Prices Platform, will now allow residents to compare a range of product prices in the country. It was launched by the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism.
The platform allows comparisons between prices of daily consumer goods, such as dairy products, vegetables, meat and seafood.
The Essential Goods Prices Platform
The platform includes 33 items, divided into 17 categories of essential goods and 16 other consumer products.
Prices can be viewed in real time in 12 retail outlets across the UAE. Minimum and maximum prices are available for each outlet for ease of comparison.

Consumers can customise their own food basket and can view cost-effective choices that allow for optimised grocery spending. When prices were last updated is also visible for the consumer.
The benefits of the Essential Goods Prices Platform is increased awareness and greater smart shopping practices in the country.
