Enjoy Sustainable Vibes This Summer: DEWA Encourages Smarter Energy and Water Use

Enjoy Sustainable Vibes This Summer is the theme of DEWA’s annual seasonal awareness campaign, which encourages residents to make smarter use of electricity and water during the hotter months.

The campaign highlights a range of digital tools and services designed to help customers monitor their consumption, identify potential wastage, and adopt more sustainable habits. Through DEWA’s Smart Living initiative, users can access detailed information about their electricity and water usage through the utility’s website and smart app, allowing them to make informed decisions about their household consumption.

The initiative supports Dubai’s wider sustainability goals by helping residents reduce waste, improve efficiency, and better understand their energy and water usage patterns.

Smart Tools to Help Residents Save

One of the key features promoted through the campaign is the Smart Living platform, which provides customers with several tools to track and manage their consumption. Users can review detailed billing information, compare their usage with similar households, and receive alerts about unusually high water consumption that may indicate leaks.

The Consumption Assessment Tool is another feature available to residential customers. By completing a simple questionnaire, users receive a detailed breakdown of their household consumption along with customised recommendations to improve efficiency.

DEWA is also encouraging customers to activate Away Mode, a service that helps residents monitor electricity and water usage while travelling. The feature sends regular updates by email and can help identify unusual consumption when a property is unoccupied.

Supporting Sustainable Living and Mobility

Alongside home efficiency tools, DEWA continues to expand its EV Green Charger network to support sustainable transportation across Dubai. The initiative now includes more than 400 charging stations across the emirate, capable of serving around 740 electric vehicles at the same time.

The utility is also promoting the importance of detecting and fixing water leaks, which can lead to significant resource wastage. Through its High Water Usage Alert service, customers can receive early notifications about unusual water consumption and take preventive action.

With its latest summer campaign, DEWA aims to make it easier for residents to embrace sustainable living while contributing to Dubai’s environmental goals.
