Al Mamzar Beach reopens in Dubai after major waterfront transformation

Al Mamzar Beach reopens in Dubai following a major redevelopment that has transformed the long-standing coastal destination into a more modern, activity-focused waterfront space.

Officially opened on May 5, 2026, the upgraded Khor Al Mamzar Beach forms part of Dubai’s Dh3 billion beachfront development plan to enhance public coastal areas across the emirate.

The reopening introduces a refreshed beach experience that combines leisure, fitness, and outdoor lifestyle features within a more connected, accessible layout.

Floating walkway and expanded shoreline redefine the beach

A key highlight of the redevelopment is a floating walkway across the lagoon, linking different sections of the beach and offering visitors a new way to experience the waterfront. The structure also improves movement between activity zones while adding a distinct visual feature to the site.

The beach has been significantly expanded, with a larger swimming shoreline and improved capacity to accommodate more visitors in a more open coastal setting.

Night beach and active lifestyle facilities added

A 300-metre night swimming zone has been introduced, extending beach access into the evening and supporting Dubai’s growing focus on flexible outdoor spaces.

The upgraded beachfront now also features more than 5.5km of running, walking and cycling tracks, alongside new outdoor gyms, beach volleyball courts, padel courts and water sports facilities, reinforcing its role as an active lifestyle destination.

Part of Dubai’s wider Dh3bn beach development vision

The Al Mamzar upgrade is part of a wider Dh3 billion masterplan to enhance beaches across Dubai, including key coastal areas such as Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim. The initiative aims to improve public access, upgrade infrastructure and strengthen the emirate’s waterfront offering.

Once fully developed, the Al Mamzar Beaches initiative is expected to attract millions of visitors annually.

A refreshed coastal destination for residents and visitors

With its floating walkway, night swimming zone and expanded recreational facilities, Al Mamzar Beach has re-emerged as a more dynamic and versatile public space.

The reopening reflects Dubai’s continued focus on creating integrated waterfront destinations that combine leisure, fitness and lifestyle experiences along the city’s coastline.
