The Dubai driverless transport parking plan is set to change how people move around the city by allowing motorists to park their cars and continue their journeys using on-demand autonomous vehicles.
The initiative is a partnership between Parkin Company PJSC and Glydways Inc., aiming to improve last-mile connectivity by linking parking locations with key destinations such as Metro stations, business districts and residential areas.
Parking sites turned into mobility hubs
Under the plan, selected Parkin-managed locations will be converted into mobility hubs where drivers can park and directly access driverless transport.

The system will use compact autonomous vehicles called Glydcars, which run on dedicated guideways separate from road traffic. These vehicles are designed for short, direct trips between connected points across the city.
Focus on faster last-mile connectivity
The driverless network is designed to solve last-mile travel gaps, helping commuters move quickly from Metro stations or parking facilities to their final destinations without traffic delays.
Frequent service and short waiting times are central to the system, supporting smooth movement across busy urban areas.
Digital integration for seamless travel
Parking and transport services will be linked through Parkin’s digital platforms, allowing users to manage parking, book rides and track journeys through a single app or website.
A dedicated mobility division, Parkin Mobility, will oversee the integration of parking infrastructure with the autonomous network.
Part of Dubai’s smart mobility push
The project aligns with wider transport plans in Dubai, which include exploring driverless systems to improve connectivity between major destinations and public transport networks.
It supports the city’s broader goals of reducing congestion and improving sustainable urban mobility.
A new role for parking in city travel
The initiative shifts parking from a final stop to a starting point in the travel journey, creating a more connected and flexible way to move around Dubai using driverless transport.
