Dubai Work from Park initiative is introducing a new way of working by bringing office-style facilities into public parks. The “Work from Park” programme, launched by Dubai Municipality, aims to create flexible work environments that combine productivity with access to nature.
The concept reflects how work habits have evolved in recent years, with more people seeking alternatives to traditional offices. By turning parks into functional workspaces, the city is offering a setting that supports both professional activity and personal well-being.
First location to open at Al Barsha Pond Park
The first site under the initiative is scheduled to open in May 2026 at Al Barsha Pond Park. This location will feature purpose-built work areas designed to blend into the park’s natural surroundings.
The spaces will include shaded seating, workstations, and dedicated zones for meetings or quiet work. The design focuses on sustainability and minimal disruption to the existing landscape.
More locations are expected to follow across Dubai, although specific sites and timelines have not yet been fully announced.
Facilities designed for modern work needs
The “Work from Park” spaces are being planned as fully equipped environments rather than simple seating areas. Users can expect access to Wi-Fi, power outlets, and bookable work zones.
Some locations are also expected to include creative studios, podcast recording areas, and small event spaces. These additions suggest the initiative is targeting a wide range of users, including freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
Access to the workspaces will be managed digitally, allowing users to book and use facilities through an app-based system.
Partnerships supporting the rollout
To develop the project, Dubai Municipality is working with Group AMANA and Letswork.
Group AMANA is responsible for building the structures using modular construction methods. This approach allows units to be assembled efficiently while reducing construction waste and time.
Letswork will oversee the user experience and manage bookings through its platform, connecting the park-based workspaces to its existing network of flexible work locations.
Part of Dubai’s long-term urban strategy
The initiative aligns with broader plans such as the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. Both strategies focus on improving the quality of life, expanding green spaces, and supporting economic growth.
Dubai has already committed to increasing the number of public parks and enhancing how they are used. Integrating workspaces into these areas reflects a shift towards more multifunctional urban design.
A different approach to everyday work
The “Work from Park” initiative highlights a growing interest in blending work with lifestyle. Instead of separating office and leisure spaces, the model encourages people to move between both throughout the day.
While it remains to be seen how widely the concept will be adopted, it signals a broader change in how cities are thinking about work environments. In Dubai, the office is no longer limited to indoor spaces. It may soon include a desk surrounded by greenery.
