Schools in the UAE are reopening today after weeks of remote learning amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
The Ministry of Education announced last week that updates on school bus operations were postponed for a certain period to ensure safety protocols.
Safety Protocols in UAE Schools
The resumption of on-site learning comes with many safety protocols and preparation plans already in place at institutes. These are mandatory for the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) to approve the institute’s reopening. Schools without approvals continue remote learning.
All teaching and administrative staff in UAE schools have received emergency training, including specialised safety training.

If alerts are received during pick-up and drop-off times, it is advisable for students, staff and parents to take shelter inside a building. Schools discourage large gatherings outside schoolS.
School Buses in the UAE
Despite an earlier decision to postpone school bus operations across the UAE, concerns from parents without alternative means of transportation prompted the Ministry of Education to take action.
In a social media post, the ministry announced that local educational authorities and school buses will resume operations starting from Monday, 20th April, for all public and private schools.

The situation will be assessed regularly, and relevant authorities will take any necessary measures in line with developments.
