Taco Bell Is Back in the UAE After 14 Years with GCC Expansion Plans

After a 14-year absence, Taco Bell is making its way back to the UAE. Americana Restaurants is preparing to relaunch the Mexican-inspired fast-food chain as part of a wider GCC expansion.

The comeback follows an exclusive development agreement between Americana Restaurants and Taco Bell UK and Europe Ltd, part of Yum! Brands. The UAE will be the first market to welcome the brand, with plans to gradually expand Taco Bell into other GCC countries.

The company said the UAE was a natural choice for the relaunch, thanks to its diverse population, lively food scene and openness to new dining concepts.

Taco Bell Returns to the UAE as Americana Gears Up for GCC Growth

Americana Restaurants Chairman Mohamed Alabbar has described Taco Bell as a standout brand in its category, saying it fits a younger generation looking for bold flavours, good value and a strong sense of personality.

For now, Taco Bell fans will have to wait a little longer. No opening date or specific UAE locations have been announced yet, although Alabbar’s comments suggest that Dubai could be where the first restaurant lands.

In his remarks about opening branches in the UAE, the chairman described Dubai as a place that adopts what is bold and then tells the world about it, therefore inspiring other locations across the globe.

The return marks a new chapter for the fast-food chain in the region. This could soon give UAE diners another option for tacos, burritos and Taco Bell’s signature Mexican-inspired menu.
