What documents do you need?
Pets must first meet basic requirements. They need an ISO-standard microchip and up-to-date vaccinations, especially rabies, which is required at least 21 days before travel. Registration with the local authority, such as Dubai Municipality, is also expected, with all records matching the microchip details.
An export permit from the UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) is mandatory and must be secured before departure. In addition, a veterinary health certificate is required to confirm the pet is fit to travel. A complete vaccination record and basic owner documents, including a passport copy and travel details, may also be requested.

In certain cases, rabies antibody testing is needed, which can extend preparation timelines.
