The Dubai International Marine Club 2026–2027 season has officially been unveiled, bringing a packed calendar of 40 races, championships, and sporting events to take place between September 2026 and April 2027.
The programme combines traditional Emirati maritime competitions with international water sports, further strengthening Dubai’s reputation as a global destination for marine sporting events.
Organised by the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC), the eight-month calendar includes traditional dhow sailing races, rowing competitions, aquabike championships, fishing tournaments, kitesurfing, kayaking and major international championships. The season will also see the club host and participate in rounds of the UIM Formula 1 World Championship and the UIM XCAT World Series.
Traditional heritage events take centre stage
The season will begin in September 2026 with the 22ft Al Shindagha Traditional Dhow Sailing Race, followed by the 43ft Atlantis Traditional Dhow Sailing Race. Throughout the season, competitors will also take part in 22ft, 43ft and 60ft dhow sailing races, alongside traditional rowing competitions that celebrate the UAE’s long-standing maritime heritage.

One of the biggest highlights of the calendar is the inclusion of two editions of the Al Gaffal 60ft Traditional Dhow Sailing Race. The postponed 35th edition is scheduled for October 2026, while the 36th edition will take place in April 2027, bringing the season to a close. The race remains one of the UAE’s most celebrated maritime heritage events and is a key fixture on Dubai’s sporting calendar.
The programme also includes celebrations for UAE Flag Day and UAE National Day, reflecting the club’s commitment to preserving local traditions alongside competitive sport.
International championships and modern water sports
In addition to heritage racing, the Dubai International Marine Club 2026–2027 season features a wide variety of modern marine sports. Visitors and competitors can look forward to aquabike championships, fishing competitions, kitesurf events, kayak races, stand-up paddling competitions and the UAE Modern Sailing Championship.

Dubai will also host the UIM XCAT World Series – Dubai Grand Prix, while the city’s Victory Team will compete in several rounds of the UIM Formula 1 World Championship, including events in Shanghai, China, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and the season finale in Sharjah.
According to DIMC, the diverse calendar reflects its vision of promoting both traditional and contemporary marine sports, supporting national talent, and reinforcing Dubai’s position as one of the world’s leading destinations for international marine events. With activities spread across eight months, the new season offers something for professional athletes, water sports enthusiasts and spectators alike.
