Dubai’s immersive entertainment scene continues expanding this summer, and a new 360-degree dome experience has now opened at Dubai Festival City Mall.
Inside the dome, projections move across the ceiling and surrounding walls while surround sound fills the space around the audience. Rather than sitting in front of a traditional screen, visitors are seated underneath the visuals as everything moves overhead throughout the experience.
The featured show is Journey Through The Cosmos, which focuses on space visuals, galaxies and large-scale planetary imagery shown throughout the 25-minute experience.
Visitors sit in reclining seats positioned underneath the curved dome ceiling while projections move continuously around the space. Once the experience begins, the scale of the dome feels much larger than it does from the outside.
The venue is located near the South Gate entrance at Dubai Festival City Mall and currently operates on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with both afternoon and evening showtimes available throughout the weekend.
Tickets are priced at AED 65 per person, making it one of the more accessible immersive experiences currently running in Dubai. The fully air-conditioned dome will likely make it especially popular over the summer months as temperatures continue to climb across the city.
The space is expected to host school visits, educational sessions and private events alongside its regular public experiences.
Dubai has introduced several immersive and projection-based attractions over the past few years, but this one feels slightly different because the entire experience takes place inside a single enclosed dome rather than across multiple walkthrough rooms or installations.
For anyone looking for a different indoor activity this summer, it is easily one of the more unusual new additions to Dubai’s entertainment scene right now.
