Emirates is giving its Premium Economy cabin another upgrade. It is introducing what it describes as a ‘world-first’ feature: an electrically powered seat with a full-height adjustable privacy divider.
The new seats will allow passengers to raise or lower the divider using built-in seat controls and lock it into place, giving travellers more privacy and a greater sense of personal space during flights.
Comfort is also getting an upgrade with the airline’s recently announced U-Dream headrest, which is designed to provide better support for the head and neck. This makes it easier to settle in, relax and get some sleep on longer journeys.

The new Premium Economy seat will make its debut on Emirates’ latest Airbus A350 aircraft. It will also be the airline’s first Premium Economy seat to feature wireless charging, alongside USB-C charging ports for compatible devices.
There’s a useful addition at the tray table, too. Each seat will have an integrated phone holder, allowing passengers to prop up their smartphone while watching or streaming content without having to hold it throughout the flight.
Passengers have more room to settle in the A350 Premium Economy cabin, which features a spacious 2-3-2 layout with 28 seats. These seats also recline into a cradle position without taking up space in the row behind.
Premium Economy seats are already designed around comfort and personal space. Now, the full-height electric divider adds another layer of privacy. It is also the first of its kind in a Premium Economy cabin.
Emirates is continuing to invest in its onboard experience, and the new seat is part of that endeavour. The airline has continued to update its cabins, entertainment systems, connectivity and Wi-Fi. With the latest Premium Economy updates, passengers can look forward to long-haul travel that is more comfortable and practical.
