Makers Days is a Dubai Culture initiative celebrating the people and processes behind creative production. This month, it is returning to Concrete at Alserkal Avenue on Saturday, 19 September and Sunday, 20 September.
The event brings together artists, designers and manufacturers to explore how creative ideas are turned into real products.
Across two days, visitors can take part in over 13 workshops, talks and panel discussions covering Dubai’s growing creative manufacturing scene. Topics will include local production, sustainable practices, product development and what it takes to build a creative business.
There will also be plenty of opportunities to meet and learn from others in the industry. Networking and mentorship sessions connecting creative entrepreneurs with manufacturers are part of the lineup.
There will also be guided visits to production spaces around Al Quoz Creative Zone, offering attendees a closer look at furniture workshops, printing houses and design studios.
Among the creatives present at the event, visitors can expect to find SME owners, makers, artisans and craftspeople. Product, furniture, fashion, jewellery and industrial designers will also attend, as will architects, students and emerging talent from across the cultural and creative industries.
Makers Day is a community initiative that reflects Dubai Culture’s commitment to reinforcing the emirate’s position as a global hub for the creative economy. Simultaneously, it creates more opportunities for local talent, creative entrepreneurs and industry professionals to collaborate and turn ideas into meaningful projects.
