The new bridge linking Sheikh Zayed Road to Dubai Harbour is set to open later this month, with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirming that the project is now 90 per cent complete. The new route is expected to significantly improve access to Dubai Harbour and reduce travel times for motorists heading to the waterfront destination.
According to the RTA, the bridge will cut journey times from around 12 minutes to just three minutes for drivers travelling from Sheikh Zayed Road towards Dubai Harbour. The project is designed to improve traffic flow and provide a more direct connection between some of Dubai’s busiest roads.
Direct Access for Motorists
The first phase of the project will open this month, allowing motorists travelling on Sheikh Zayed Road from both the Deira and Jebel Ali directions to access Dubai Harbour directly.

A second phase is scheduled to open next month. This will introduce a route from Dubai Harbour to Al Naseem Street, along with additional connections between the new bridge and the junction of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street and Al Naseem Street.
Part of Dubai’s Road Network Expansion
The bridge is being developed through a partnership between the RTA and Shamal Holding as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Dubai’s transport infrastructure.
The project aims to support growing traffic demand in the area while improving connectivity to Dubai Harbour, one of the city’s major waterfront destinations. Once fully operational, the new road links are expected to provide smoother journeys for residents, commuters and visitors travelling to and from the district.
