Dubai is set to get its smallest library from Thursday, 23rd April to Thursday, 30th April. The week-long initiative has been scheduled to begin on World Book Day (23rd April), encouraging residents to step away from screens and focus on the simple pleasure of reading consciously.
The small library is located in a working pod at Julith Coffee, a coffee shop in Al Quoz. It is a collaboration between Julith Coffee and Bookends, a community-led bookstore in Dubai. Measuring only 128 cm by 198 cm, it is designed to be a tranquil retreat away from the hustle of Dubai’s luxurious, modern lifestyle.
What Does the Library Include?
Visitors can explore more than 500 books, available in five languages. The space is free of distractions and is soundproof. Entry is free, but bookings are required for one-hour private reading sessions.

Visitors can also buy books they like by scanning a QR code for payment.
The concept is designed to promote active reading amidst the city’s fast-paced lifestyle, encouraging residents to practise a digital detox and enjoy the simple things life has to offer.
