UAE Schools to Reopen Next Week

The Ministry of Education announced yesterday that all public and private nurseries, kindergartens and schools in the UAE are to resume in-person learning for all enrolled students, educational staff and administrative staff, from Monday, 20th April.

The update came after UAE schools have reportedly completed the required preparation and readiness plans, prior to the children returning.

These include facility preparedness, training of educational and administrative staff and updated safety and security procedures. These measures ensure a safe learning environment for students.

Hybrid Models in Private UAE Schools

The Ministry of Education has also given private schools a provision for a hybrid learning mode. Private schools have the option of implementing the hybrid rotational model if necessary. This will be in line with approved regulations and under the supervision of local education authorities.

Institutes using the hybrid model must organise staff deployment to ensure the smooth continuity of learning. Notably, the same teachers must not be assigned to conduct an in-person and a remote class simultaneously.

The aim is to preserve the quality of education and help teachers balance their professional workload.

Educational institutions must stay prepared to transition to alternative learning modes as and when needed.

The announcement comes after a previous announcement by the Education, Human Resources and Community Development Council a few days ago, permitting the gradual reopening of nurseries in Dubai and the other emirates from 16th April.
