The Ministry of Education announced last night that it has extended distance learning until Friday, 17th April, for students, teaching professionals, and administrative staff in all nurseries, kindergartens, and public and private institutions across the UAE.
The move comes amidst ongoing uncertainties around regional safety, ensuring the well-being of students and staff. The situation is to be reviewed weekly for any updates and new developments.
Extended Distance Learning for Dubai Students
This extension is yet another in a series of extensions since 2nd March, covering the UAE spring break and the completion of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr.
Several days ago, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) declared that distance learning would continue across all private educational institutions in Dubai until Friday, 3rd April.

The KHDA had also stressed that any institution wishing to resume on-site learning would have to submit a formal request, summarising the key reasons and justifying them accordingly.
Every application would be evaluated, and the final decision would be at the discretion of the Ministry of Education, prioritising the safety of Dubai’s educational community in Dubai above all.
With the current extension, students from nursery to secondary school years can expect to stay back at home for virtual learning till mid-April. This applies as long as the Ministry of Education does not grant any requests for in-person classes.
