Dubai RTA inaugurated all works of the Hessa Street development project on Sunday, 19th April. The route spans 4.5 kilometres, extending from Sheikh Zayed Road to Al Khail Road.
In a post on social media, the RTA revealed that the street and bridges at the intersections of Hessa Street with Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Wasl Road, First Al Khail Road and Al Khail Road have been expanded to four lanes in each direction.
The project will smooth traffic flow between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road in both directions, reducing travel time from 15 minutes to 4 minutes.
Hessa Street in Dubai
Hessa Street is an integral road in Dubai, serving multiple residential and development areas, including Al Sufouh 2, Al Barsha, and Jumeirah Circle Village. The population of these areas is expected to exceed 640,000 residents by 2030.

Hessa Street’s upgrade will now accommodate 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, up from 8,000 per hour earlier, an increase of 100 per cent.
The completion of Hessa Street’s first phase has also given the area a distinctive appearance, with smoother infrastructure, improved mobility, and a more integrated urban experience in Dubai.
The upgrade is expected to bring significant relief to regular commuters who have long been troubled by traffic congestion in this area.
