UAE Petrol Prices August 2026: Here’s What Drivers Will Pay This Month

UAE petrol prices August 2026 have officially been announced, with motorists set to pay 20 fils more per litre across all fuel types from August 1.

Whether you’re commuting to work, planning a weekend road trip or simply budgeting for the month ahead, filling up your tank will cost a little more this month. The UAE Fuel Price Committee has confirmed the latest retail fuel prices for August, with increases across every petrol variant as well as diesel.

The revised rates came into effect on Saturday, August 1, 2026, and apply at petrol stations across the UAE.

What are the new fuel prices?

Motorists across the UAE will now pay:

  • Super 98: AED 3.60 per litre (up from AED 3.40 in July)
  • Special 95: AED 3.49 per litre (up from AED 3.29)
  • E-Plus 91: AED 3.41 per litre (up from AED 3.21)
  • Diesel: AED 3.80 per litre (up from AED 3.60)

Each fuel type has increased by 20 fils per litre compared with the previous month, bringing an end to the brief drop in prices seen in July.

What does the increase mean for drivers?

Although a 20-fils increase may not seem significant at first, it can make a noticeable difference over time, especially for motorists who drive long distances each day. Filling a typical 40-litre fuel tank will now cost around AED 8 more than it did last month, while drivers of larger vehicles with 120-litre tanks can expect to pay roughly AED 24 extra for a full tank.

For families with more than one vehicle or commuters who spend a lot of time on the road, these additional costs can gradually add up over the course of the month.

Why do fuel prices change every month?

The UAE Fuel Price Committee reviews retail fuel prices at the end of each month, with rates adjusted in line with international crude oil prices and broader global energy market trends. Since the UAE deregulated fuel prices in 2015, monthly revisions have reflected movements in the global market rather than fixed local pricing.

While August has brought an increase across petrol and diesel, prices can move either up or down from one month to the next. Keeping an eye on the monthly announcement can help motorists plan their commuting costs, road trips and overall household budgets more effectively.
