The Dubai Global Autonomous Mobility Challenge 2027 is now open for registration, with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) inviting innovators from around the world to help shape the future of autonomous transport. The fifth edition of the challenge will focus on the theme “Smart Integrated Infrastructure” and offers a total prize pool of US$1 million.
The initiative supports Dubai’s ambition to become a global leader in smart mobility and aligns with its goal of making 25% of all transportation trips autonomous by 2030. Registration opened on June 15, 2026, and will remain open until October 15, 2026.
Driving the Future of Connected Mobility
This year’s challenge seeks solutions that use smart integrated infrastructure to create safer, more efficient, and more reliable transport networks. Participants are encouraged to develop systems that connect vehicles, roads, digital platforms, and surrounding infrastructure through Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technologies.

Suggested use cases include predictive traffic management, automated valet parking, emergency vehicle alerts, digital road signage, green-light speed advisory systems, and enhanced pedestrian safety. Participants may also propose additional concepts that support the challenge theme.
Key Dates and Competition Process
The challenge is open to market-ready solution providers as well as local academic institutions. Entries will be evaluated through multiple stages, including technical reviews, testing readiness assessments, on-site demonstrations, and business case evaluations.
The RTA will announce the shortlisted participants in November 2026, while the finalists will be selected in July 2027. The winners will be revealed during the Dubai World Autonomous Mobility Conference in September 2027.
Through the challenge, Dubai aims to accelerate the development of self-driving transport technologies while building a smarter, more connected mobility ecosystem for the future.
