The Barasti closure marks a significant moment for one of Dubai’s most iconic beachfront venues. After 30 years at Mina Seyahi, the popular beach club has announced a temporary shutdown in June 2026 as it prepares for a major redevelopment. The venue is expected to reopen in 2027 with a refreshed concept while maintaining the relaxed atmosphere that made it a favourite among residents and visitors.
Since opening in 1995, Barasti has played a prominent role in Dubai’s social and entertainment scene. Long before many of the city’s modern beachfront destinations emerged, it had already built a loyal following with its casual beachfront setting, live music events, sports screenings, and vibrant nightlife.
A New Chapter for a Dubai Favourite
Over the years, Barasti has welcomed international DJs, hosted major sporting events, and become a familiar gathering place for generations of Dubai residents. Its laid-back appeal has helped it remain relevant even as Dubai’s beach club scene has evolved.

The redevelopment reflects the ongoing growth of the surrounding Dubai Marina and Dubai Harbour areas. Plans for the new Barasti include family-friendly spaces, upgraded dining experiences, redesigned interiors, and dedicated entertainment zones that cater to different audiences throughout the day and evening.
Farewell Event Before the Closure
Before work begins, Barasti will host a special farewell event, Barasti: Last Orders, on June 21. The all-day celebration will feature many of the experiences that defined the venue over the years, including beachfront lounging, live DJs, food, and drinks.
Guests can also enjoy a farewell package priced at Dh150, which includes three food items and five beverages. For many longtime residents, the event will offer one last chance to celebrate a venue that has been part of Dubai’s beachfront culture since 1995.
While the temporary closure marks the end of an era, Barasti’s planned return in 2027 signals the beginning of a new chapter for one of Dubai’s best-known beach clubs.
