The Your Time Counts initiative UAE introduces a structured approach to volunteering within federal government entities, with a focus on integrating community work into everyday professional life.
Launched by the Ministry of Community Empowerment in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, the initiative looks at how time and skills can be redirected towards social impact in a more organised way.
Rather than treating volunteering as an occasional activity, the programme is positioned within institutional systems. Federal employees are given access to opportunities that align with their experience, allowing them to contribute in roles that go beyond general participation.

A key part of the initiative is its connection to existing government platforms. Participation is linked to internal systems, enabling employees to log and track their contributions, while also connecting with opportunities available through the national volunteering network.
The initiative reflects a broader shift in how volunteering is approached at a national level. There is a growing emphasis on continuity, where contributions are not limited to one-off events but become part of a longer-term framework tied to skills and availability.
At the same time, it provides federal entities with a clear model to support employee involvement in community work without adding separate layers of coordination.
By embedding volunteering into existing systems, the process becomes more accessible and easier to sustain.
The “Your Time Counts” initiative is now open for participation across federal government entities.
