Best Outdoor Markets in Dubai for a Laid-Back Weekend Browse

Dubai might be known for its malls, but some of its most interesting finds sit out in the open. Across the city, outdoor markets in Dubai bring together independent vendors, small businesses and creative concepts you won’t typically see in traditional retail spaces.

Expect everything from handmade goods and vintage pieces to street food and local brands, all set in relaxed, open-air settings. Whether you’re browsing or buying, these markets offer an easy way to spend a few hours without stepping into a shopping centre.

Below are five outdoor markets in Dubai to check out this weekend:

The Farmers’ Market, Alserkal Avenue

Alserkal Avenue is among Dubai’s liveliest venues and a popular cultural centre. The Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm, where you can choose from the freshest produce, sourced from farms across the UAE.

Apart from greens, you’ll find artisanal sourdough, premium natural products, kombucha, and breads and cheeses, as well as varied plant-based items. Stay back for a post-shopping meal at any of the eateries at Alserkal Avenue.

Quite a few vendors offer garments, toys and little trinkets as well, and there are plenty of nearby dining options for a longer shopping day. Timings are 9 am to 9 pm on Saturday and 9 am to 7 pm on Sunday.

Indoor pop-ups are held during the summer months, along with workshops, live music performances, and fitness and children’s activities.

Upcoming pop-ups are scheduled for 12th April and 26th April at Times Square Centre in Al Quoz, from 10 am to 7 pm, where you can access art and craft products, colourful clothing, accessories, jewellery, home decor, and food items.

Meena Bazaar, Bur Dubai

Some consider Meena Bazaar a ‘mini India’ in the city, known for its South Asian fashion, handicrafts, and good bargains.

Enjoy views of the nearby Dubai Creek as you shop for a variety of traditional ware, from ready-made traditional garments, shoes and bags to jewellery at popular gold shops.

Aside from these, you can survey a range of furniture, ceramics, perfumes and spices. Along the way, pause to sample snacks such as samosas and chaat.

Generally, the market opens at 10.30 am and remains open until late 10.30 pm, though it’s advisable to check individual store timings.
