Dubai RTA Cycling Tracks: 13 Routes Completed Across the City

Dubai is transforming its streets for cyclists and pedestrians. As part of the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) master plan, 13 new cycling tracks have been completed, forming part of a larger network that will eventually cover 15 routes and stretch over 162 kilometres.

Cyclists can now travel from Al Khawaneej to Al Mamzar Beach, Al Warqa’a to Saih Al Salam, and from the financial hub of DIFC to Jumeirah.

The project is part of Dubai’s ongoing commitment to sustainable mobility, offering residents and visitors safer, greener alternatives to driving.

Bridging the Gaps

Work is still underway on several pedestrian and cycling bridges designed to make the network even more seamless.

Among the most notable are a bridge over Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road linking Al Khawaneej to Al Mamzar Beach, and another spanning Dubai–Al Ain Road to connect Saih Al Salam with Al Warqa’a and Al Khawaneej.

Cyclists in the city will also benefit from a bridge over Sheikh Zayed Road, connecting Al Sufouh and Jumeirah with Hessa Street, as well as a bridge over Al Khail Road linking Dubai Hills with Hessa Street and the Mall of the Emirates.

These bridges are intended to allow uninterrupted, traffic-free journeys, improving both safety and convenience.

A Step Toward a Connected, Active City

The full network, including the bridges still under construction, is expected to open in the second quarter of this year. Once operational, it will form one of the largest integrated cycling and pedestrian systems in the region.

The initiative reflects Dubai’s broader vision of encouraging active lifestyles and sustainable transport.

By connecting residential communities, business districts, and leisure destinations, the RTA aims to make cycling a viable and enjoyable way to navigate the city.

Residents and visitors alike can look forward to safer, more accessible routes for commuting, exercising, or exploring Dubai’s neighbourhoods, blending convenience with recreation.
