On-Site Learning in Dubai Schools Requires Approval from KHDA

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) of Dubai issued an official statement on its social media platform regarding on-site learning requests from and the continuation of distance learning in private schools in Dubai.

Taking the recent regional developments into account, the KHDA extended distance learning in all private schools across Dubai till Friday, 3rd April to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Private Schools Must Seek Approval for On-Site Learning

The KHDA also highlighted that any private educational institution seeking to resume on-site learning will need to submit a formal request for the same, while underscoring clear and detailed justifications for the need to resume in-person classes.

These requests will be surveyed and examined on a case-by-case basis only. The Ministry of Education will review the requests in accordance with relevant protocol and safety procedures.

The final decision of whether the institution may return to on-site learning will be determined by the Ministry of Education, keeping as a top priority the safety of Dubai’s students, teaching professionals, and administrative staff.

What Should Parents and Students Know?

Students studying at any private educational institutes in Dubai, as well as their parents, must stay up to date with the official announcements made by their respective schools and colleges, should the institutions in question suggest the possibility of on-site learning resuming in the coming weeks.

In particular, any private educational institute would need to implement certain safety requirements and meet some basic criteria in order for their on-site learning requests to be taken into consideration.

These requirements would most likely constitute secure rules and regulations for student and staff arrival and leave and more stringent security.
