UAE school transport fee waiver measures are being introduced as students continue distance learning, offering much-needed financial relief to families while schools remain online.
Education authorities and school operators across the country have confirmed the waivers, covering transport fees for the period students are learning remotely.
Transport fee waivers in practice
Leading education groups, including Woodlem Education, will waive all transport fees during distance learning, benefiting over 20,000 students across eight schools and two nurseries.

Other schools and bus providers are also adjusting billing or offering refunds while students learn from home.
Distance learning extension
The transport fee waivers coincide with the Ministry of Education’s decision to continue distance learning nationwide until at least April 17, 2026.
This extension applies to all public and private schools, nurseries, and kindergartens. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, reviewing it weekly to ensure student safety and educational quality are maintained.
Ongoing support for students and families
Education administrators have emphasised that the UAE school transport fee waiver is part of a broader commitment to support students and families during extended periods of remote learning.
Schools are coordinating with transport providers to ensure the process is seamless and that refunds or adjustments are applied fairly.
The initiative reflects a careful, measured approach, ensuring that families receive relief while maintaining continuity in student education.
Officials have stressed that further updates will be communicated as authorities assess developments and review the distance learning schedule.
