Run, Train & Cycle with the Dubai Police: What You Should Know

Cycling enthusiasts in Dubai can register for a community cycling initiative by the Dubai Police, which is completely free.

Titled ‘Train with Dubai Police’, the initiative will be held every Wednesday in April. It involves training around the four-kilometre international circuit at Dubai Autodrome in a controlled environment.

Who Can Sign Up for ‘Train with Dubai Police’?

Fitness enthusiasts can enjoy an expansive space without any other vehicles blocking their route. It’s not just cyclists, runners, and rollerbladers who can also participate.

Dubai Autodrome has confirmed that their circuit follows strict safety standards; trained marshals and medical services will be present throughout to ensure that all participants have a safe, fulfilling training session.

To participate, registration is required beforehand as spaces are limited, and the track is open for sessions from 7 pm to 10 pm.

The site also offers guided bootcamp sessions that combine functional training with conditioning to enhance the experience. Equipment made of real kart parts will be used to test strength and endurance. These sessions are held at 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm.

You can register on Dubai Autodrome’s official website.

Requirements to Participate

Dubai Autodrome has emphasised a list of rules all participants must adhere to to ensure a safe, comfortable training environment for everyone:

  • Access the track only for cycling, running, walking, jogging and rollerblading
  • Register in advance and sign a waiver before participating
  • If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • Follow how the circuit operates: it is one-way, with cyclists on the left and runners, walkers and rollerbladers on the right
  • Remain in your designated lane at all times
  • Follow the marshal’s instructions and maintain safe behaviour; do not race or behave aggressively
  • If cycling, wear a helmet; if rollerblading, use full protective gear
  • Wear appropriate sportswear and footwear for all activities
  • Avoid motorised devices as these are not permitted
  • Entry and exit must be done via the designated pit lane access
