In light of Eid Al Fitr long weekend, the Dubai Municipality has officially declared five public beaches as temporarily for families over the holiday.
With more and more families choosing to stay in Dubai instead of travelling for the Eid weekend, the initiative opens up beaches as a safe and less crowded environment for parents and children.
Which Beaches Have Been Announced as Family-Only?
As per the Dubai Municipality, the following five beaches will be open exclusively to families:
Jumeirah Beach 1
The beach, which was recently reopened after being shut for works, offers visitors brand-new jogging tracks and cycling pathways.
Already known for being a comparatively more peaceful and secluded beach in Dubai, the area is expected to be less crowds than usual.
Jumeirah Beach 2
There is an abundance of things to do at this family-friendly beach. Relax by the blue waters, enjoy a swim, surf or simply take a long stroll.
Jumeirah Beach 3
Jumeirah 3 Beach offers families a more peaceful environment, providing a contrast to the bustling atmosphere of many other tourist and weekend hotspots in Dubai.
Facilities, include showers, foot rinse stations, sun loungers and umbrellas for a complete beach picnic vibe. There is also delicious food available at nearby cafés and restaurants.
Umm Suqeim 1 Beach
The Umm Suqeim 1 beach (also called Sunset Beach) is located near a bustling neighbourhood, where visitors can access showers, changing rooms, and surfing. The beach is also accessible for people of determination.
Umm Suqeim 2 Beach
This beach is located near the Jumeirah Fishing Harbour, around a smaller community. You can enjoy the coastal views, play volleyball with your kids, or enjoy water sports.
With crowds safely out of the way for the weekend, you can share meals by the shore, activities, or simply soak up the sea breeze.
