Emirates SkyCargo has assigned a unit dedicated to supporting pet owners across the UAE who plan to travel with their pets in the near future.
The airline has assured customers that the team in charge will provide support throughout the various regulatory procedures required for pet air travel.
Especially in light of the ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region, which have resulted in numerous flight cancellations in Dubai.

What Pet Owners Should Know
The official Emirates SkyCargo website outlines what passengers with pets should be aware of.
Pet owners are more likely to encounter issues during air travel than other passengers, as rules for transporting different types of animals vary by country.
Concerns often range from entry permissions for certain dog breeds to pet safety on board.
Some of the features and key benefits provided by the SkyCargo team’s procedures are:
- All-inclusive airfreight rates, without any hidden costs
- Veterinary support at the Animal Care area in Dubai
- Professional transit
The International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Live Animal Regulations (LAR) will be stringently adhered to during all processes. Emirates will consider all relevant country and operator-specific rules regarding pet entry and safety.
Travelling owners can rest assured, as pets will be transported with high-quality care, with a documented transit care timeline.
Animals will be transferred between the aircraft and a temperature-controlled facility in Dubai in specially designed vehicles, with professional staff to handle their boarding.
As per the website, Emirates has a Dubai facility for pets’ departure, arrival, or transit. A minimum of 6 hours of connection time is required to ensure appropriate care can be provided to the animals.

Animal care specialists on the ground will provide pets with necessities, including exercise, cleaning, and feeding. Any special food requirements will be accommodated only if specified at the time of booking.
To avoid stress on the animals, pets are the last to be loaded onto the ship and the first to be offloaded.
What Should Travellers Do?
To avoid last-minute discrepancies and issues with pet care, logistics, and travel, it is advisable for travellers intending to transport their pets to make and confirm flight bookings and destination arrangements well in advance.
