With Eid Al Fitr 2026 confirmed for March 20, people across the UAE are preparing for Eid prayers tomorrow, which are attended in congregation.
However, this year, Eid falls on a Friday, which coincides with the tradition of Friday prayers. Worshippers may be confused as to whether both can be combined in the form of the Eid prayer session itself.
Should you perform both prayers?
As per the UAE Council for Fatwa, both Eid prayers and traditional Friday prayers are performed separately during the time periods. Both acts of worship remain equally important as per religious customs and beliefs.
The best way is to attend Eid prayers early in the morning at the nearest mosque, after confirming timings.
Once Ramadan has ended and Eid has begun, worshippers can return to the respective mosques for Friday prayers later during the day.
Keep in mind the following guidelines:
- Adhere to the prayer timings
- Arrive early if possible
- Avoid overcrowded areas outdoors
- Cooperate with the Dubai Police and other authorities facilitating traffic flow
