School of Life workshops are bringing a fresh mix of creativity, culture and hands-on learning to Dubai Public Libraries throughout August 2026. Organised by Dubai Culture, the month-long programme features around 39 to 40 interactive sessions covering STEM and science, Arabic calligraphy, music, performing arts and languages.
The initiative offers a different way to experience Dubai’s libraries, with branches becoming welcoming spaces for families, children and adults to learn new skills and explore creative interests. The August programme runs until August 30, giving residents several opportunities to take part before the month comes to an end.
A creative programme for curious minds
The School of Life is an ongoing Dubai Culture initiative focused on lifelong learning and community participation. Its August programme is aligned with Dubai’s Quality of Life Strategy and brings educational activities into neighbourhood library spaces.
The workshops are designed around participation rather than simply watching or listening. Depending on the session, visitors can explore science and innovation, develop artistic skills, discover music or learn more about languages and cultural practices.
This makes the programme particularly suited to families looking for engaging activities during the summer, while adults can also find sessions that match their personal interests.

The programme is taking place at several Dubai Public Library branches, including Al Twar Library, Al Safa Art & Design Library and Al Mankhool Library.
Each location contributes to the wider programme with its own selection of activities, giving residents the chance to discover a library close to home while trying something different.
The mix of creative and educational sessions also reflects Dubai Culture’s focus on making cultural experiences accessible to the wider community.
Two upcoming sessions to look out for
There are still School of Life sessions taking place before the August programme concludes.
August 27: Talent Day takes place at Al Safa Art & Design Library from 4 pm to 9 pm. The special programme includes interactive stations, calligraphy, choral singing and innovation workshops.
August 29: Al Mankhool Library will host a Pina Colada Matcha workshop from 5 pm to 7 pm. The session is hosted by Japan in Arabia and adds a creative food and culture element to the programme.
