The Back-to-School Carnival at Palm Jumeirah is bringing a fresh twist to end-of-summer shopping, transforming a routine trip for school essentials into a fun family outing. Taking place on Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8, 2026, the free event forms part of the grand finale of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS).
Across two evenings, families can enjoy 17 live performances, interactive shows and roaming entertainment while ticking off their back-to-school shopping lists, making it an easy way to combine practical errands with quality time together.
Two evenings packed with free family entertainment
Hosted at Palm Jumeirah Mall, the carnival is free to attend and does not require any registration. The programme has been designed for families with children of all ages, offering a mix of stage performances, interactive experiences and colourful entertainment throughout the mall.
Young visitors can look forward to the Unlimited Magic Bag, an interactive magic show that encourages children to join in the fun, while the Circus of Science combines exciting acrobatics with dramatic science demonstrations that make learning feel entertaining. The First Day of School Show and Schoolyard Spectrum use music, storytelling and lively performances to help children feel excited about returning to the classroom.
Adding to the atmosphere are youth dance and choir performances, including a lively K-Pop Heroes Dance Performance, showcasing talented young performers from the local community.
Entertainment continues throughout the mall
Beyond the main stage, families can expect plenty happening as they explore the shopping centre. Roaming performers, including stilt walkers, circus entertainers, balloon artists, and official DSS mascots, will be making appearances throughout the venue, creating plenty of opportunities for children to interact, take photos, and enjoy surprise performances while moving between stores.
Each evening will wrap up with a dedicated DSS Finale Performance, celebrating the close of Dubai’s annual summer festival with a lively closing show.
