City Walk Parking Goes Ticketless With New Digital System: What Drivers Should Know

City Walk parking has been upgraded with a new barrierless digital system, making it quicker and easier for motorists to enter and exit the popular Dubai destination. Powered by Parkin, the new setup replaces traditional boom gates and paper tickets with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, allowing vehicles to be identified automatically as they drive in and out.

The new system is designed to improve traffic flow within City Walk while offering a more seamless parking experience. If you’re planning a visit, here’s everything you need to know about the new charges, payment process, and how you can qualify for free parking.

How the new City Walk parking system works

The new parking system uses ANPR cameras to scan vehicle number plates on arrival and departure. There is no need to collect a ticket or stop at a payment machine before leaving. Instead, parking charges are calculated automatically based on the amount of time your vehicle remains in the car park.

Every visitor receives the first hour of parking free of charge. After that, parking costs AED 5 for every additional hour or part of an hour.

Drivers with a registered Parkin account will have the parking fee deducted automatically. Those who have not linked their vehicle to a Parkin account or have an insufficient account balance will receive an SMS containing a secure payment link to complete the transaction online.

Parking at The Boulevard within City Walk follows a different payment system. The first 30 minutes are free, after which parking is charged at AED 20 per hour. These fees are deducted directly from the driver’s Salik e-Wallet rather than from a Parkin account.

How to get up to three hours of free parking

Visitors can extend their free parking to three hours by spending at least AED 50 at participating retail stores, restaurants, wellness centres, or entertainment venues within City Walk.

After making a qualifying purchase, simply present your receipt to the staff at the participating outlet. Your vehicle registration will then be digitally validated, and complimentary parking will be automatically applied.

Purchases made at standalone kiosks, food carts, and food vans are not eligible for parking validation. Visitors to Roxy Cinemas and The Green Planet can also receive customer parking validation, subject to the venue’s parking policy.

With the new digital system now in place, City Walk visitors can expect a faster parking experience while spending less time waiting at entry and exit points.
