Dubai Marathon 2027 Registration Opens: Here’s How to Sign Up for the January Race

The Dubai Marathon 2027 registration is now open, giving runners from the UAE and around the world the opportunity to take part in one of the Middle East’s most established road races. The 26th edition of the Dubai Marathon will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2027, with participants able to choose from three race distances suitable for different fitness levels and running experience.

Organised with the support of the Dubai Sports Council, the annual event has become a major fixture on Dubai’s sporting calendar. Over the past 25 years, it has welcomed more than 400,000 runners and continues to attract elite athletes as well as first-time participants from across the globe.

How to Register for Dubai Marathon 2027

Registration is available exclusively online through the official Dubai Marathon website. Participants can choose from three race categories, each with its own entry fee, minimum age requirement, and start time.

The 42.195km Marathon costs USD 150 and is open to runners aged 18 years and above. The race begins at 6:30 am.

The 10km Road Race costs USD 85 and is open to participants aged 15 years and above. It will start at 8:00 am.

Those looking for a more relaxed experience can join the 4km Fun Run, which costs USD 50, is open to all ages, and starts at 10:00 am.

The race follows Dubai’s well-known fast and flat marathon course, with the start and finish located on Umm Suqeim Road near the Burj Al Arab. Participants must complete the official online entry form, pay the registration fee, and agree to the event’s rules and regulations before confirming their place.

Organisers have also stated that the full marathon has a six-hour official time limit, after which police and medical support on the course will conclude. Participants are required to follow World Athletics regulations throughout the event. Pets and wheeled transport, including bicycles and rollerblades, are not permitted, while entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Dubai Marathon Continues to Draw Global Runners

The Dubai Marathon remains one of the region’s biggest running events, attracting participants from around the world. Earlier this year, the race welcomed 19,338 runners from 151 countries, with a record 39% of participants travelling from outside the UAE, highlighting its growing international appeal.

Dubai Marathon General Co-ordinator Ahmed Al Kamali said there has already been significant interest in the 2027 race following the success of the silver anniversary edition. He noted that many international runners are eager not only to compete but also to experience Dubai as a destination.

Event Director Peter Connerton said registrations mark the start of the countdown to another world-class event and expressed confidence that the marathon will once again bring together runners from across the world in January.

The 2026 edition also maintained Dubai’s reputation as one of the fastest marathon courses globally. Ethiopia’s Nibret Melak claimed victory on his marathon debut with a time of 2:04:00, becoming the sixth consecutive debut winner of the men’s race. Fellow Ethiopian Anchinalu Dessie won the women’s race in a personal best 2:18:31, securing her third consecutive marathon victory.

The 2027 Dubai Marathon is supported by ASICS, Bisleri Water, MG Motor, Channel 4 Radio Network, Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Runners interested in taking part can now complete their registration online, where they can also find course maps, race information, and the latest event updates.
