Al Ghurair Centre smart parking: AI-powered ticketless system launched by Parkin

Al Ghurair Centre smart parking is set to transform the way visitors park at one of Dubai’s oldest shopping destinations. Parkin Company PJSC has partnered with Al Ghurair Centre to introduce a new AI-powered, ticketless parking system that removes physical barriers and paper tickets, making entry and exit quicker and more convenient.

The new system is part of a five-year agreement between the two organisations and is designed to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and create a smoother parking experience for shoppers, cinema visitors, residents, and commercial tenants.

How the new ticketless parking system works

Instead of collecting a paper ticket when entering the mall, drivers’ vehicles will be recognised using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology. AI-powered cameras will automatically scan vehicle number plates on arrival and departure, calculating the parking duration without requiring any action from the driver.

Parkin will also install a new camera unit with an integrated display screen at Al Ghurair Centre, providing visitors with real-time guidance while they drive through the parking facility.

Another major change is the payment process. Visitors will no longer need to queue at payment machines before leaving. Parking charges can be paid digitally either before exiting or within five days through Parkin’s official digital payment channels, offering greater flexibility and a faster overall experience.

Free parking hours, charges and visitor benefits

All visitors will continue to enjoy three hours of free parking. After the complimentary period, standard parking charges will apply from Monday to Saturday, while parking will remain free on Sundays and public holidays.

Shoppers who spend AED 200 or more at Al Ghurair Centre can receive an additional two hours of free parking by validating their receipt at the Customer Service Desk, bringing their total free parking time to five hours.

Moviegoers visiting Star Cinemas will also receive two extra hours of complimentary parking, making it easier to enjoy a film without worrying about parking time.

As part of the partnership, Parkin will also manage monthly parking subscriptions and dedicated parking facilities for residents of Al Ghurair Centre Residence and Rawabeh commercial tenants.

The new smart parking system reflects Dubai’s continued investment in technology-driven mobility solutions, intending to reduce waiting times, improve accessibility, and make every visit to Al Ghurair Centre more seamless from the moment drivers arrive.
