The Community Development Authority (CDA) has announced an Eid Al Adha support initiative worth AED 27.7 million, benefiting more than 11,700 people across Dubai.
Launched as part of the UAE’s “Year of Family”, the “Eidiya” initiative aims to support families and vulnerable groups while strengthening social wellbeing and community solidarity ahead of Eid Al Adha.
The initiative was carried out in partnership with several organisations, including the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Union Coop, Dubai Land Department, Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Ber Society, and Tarahum Charity Foundation.
Support for families and vulnerable groups
According to the CDA, the support was provided to families and individuals receiving financial assistance, along with other priority groups including minors and fishermen.
Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid said the initiative reflects the UAE’s values of compassion and social solidarity, while also supporting the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33.

Fishermen also received prepaid support cards through Union Coop, while the CDA organised sessions to better understand their needs and improve long-term support.
Fruit basket distribution ahead of Eid
As part of the wider initiative, the CDA partnered with the UAE Food Bank, an initiative under Dubai Municipality, to distribute 250 fruit baskets ahead of Eid Al Adha.
The baskets were delivered directly to homes and benefited 65 participants from the “Waleef” initiative as well as 185 senior citizens at Al Barsha Majlis.
The CDA said the initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen community support and improve the well-being of families and vulnerable groups across Dubai.
