DMCC Instashop drivers appreciation dinner held in Uptown Dubai

Hundreds of delivery drivers were recognised this week at the DMCC Instashop drivers’ appreciation dinner, as DMCC hosted an event for Instashop riders at Uptown Dubai.

Held on 9 April at SO Uptown Dubai, the event brought together around 400 drivers from across the UAE. It focused on their role in delivering groceries, pharmacy items, and other daily essentials across Dubai. Drivers from multiple nationalities working across the city attended the gathering.

Instashop, launched in 2015, connects users with supermarkets, pharmacies, and local retailers through its on-demand platform. It began operations in Jumeirah Lakes Towers and has since expanded into multiple markets. The company now works with more than 3,000 drivers and riders across the region.

The platform is used for everyday orders ranging from food and household items to personal care and pharmacy products. Its model is built around quick fulfilment through nearby stores and delivery partners.

Recognition and platform growth

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC, said the event reflected appreciation for delivery drivers who support daily life in the city.

He said the role of drivers ensures continued access to essential goods across communities and reflects the contribution of companies operating within DMCC’s network.

The evening also reflected Instashop’s growth since joining the DMCC ecosystem. The company has expanded beyond the UAE while maintaining its base in Dubai and continuing to scale its delivery operations.

DMCC now hosts more than 26,000 companies, making it one of Dubai’s key business districts. The event also highlighted Uptown Dubai as a growing urban hub that brings together residential, hospitality, and commercial spaces into one destination.
